Welcome to the museum of First Animals!

This website presents pictures from a large private collection of fossils from the Burgess Shale, half a billion years ago. It also contains other minor collections from Ediacaran, Cambrian and later.

Each fossil offers several pictures and a short description of the species, the specimen and the fossil’s site. No treatments were applied on the fossils, nor the pictures. We tried as much as possible to show a full view and a detailed view, as well as the Burgess silver reflection. Camera equipment: Canon EOS R5 + Lens RF 100mm.
